On Tuesday, May 9th, Morandi Spa participated in the Shareholders’ general meeting of Fondazione Promozione Acciaio. During the meeting, full of resolutions, the financial statements for the year ended December 31st 2016 have been unanimously approved, as well as the budget for 2017, for which a 20% increase has been envisaged compared to 2016.
Caterina Epis (Tenaris Dalmine) has been confirmed as President of the foundation for the next three years 2017/2019, together with the Board of Directors currently in charge, that is to say Luca Benetti (Stahlbau Pichler), Stefano Borghi (Effebi), Giuseppe Bricchetti (ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions Italia), Stefano D’Aprile (Commerciale Siderurgica Bresciana), Giovanni Dugoni (Duferdofin – Nucor), Salvatore Firenze (ArcelorMittal), Enrico Fornelli (AFV Acciaierie Beltrame), Carmine Ricciolino (Associazione Italiana Zincatura) e Quinto Stefana (Ferrosider).
The Agenda also included a detailed report of all the actions undertaken aimed at encouraging public and private investors to use structural steel, in order to support the development of technical regulations, to boost the innovation and competitiveness of the sector, as well as the updating of the pricelist of the Italian regions’ public works, so that the use of steel is duly taken into consideration.
The planning of training activities and technical publications results as further consolidated, in order to make knowledge and skills more accessible and to increase the quality of all designs, by extending the base of professionals who choose steel for their projects.
Lastly, some new initiatives and activities have been presented, with the purpose of diffusing the knowledge of steel drywall construction, and in order to promote not only the development of the non-residential market, but also that of offices, retail, hospitality and infrastructures.
Created in 2005 for the development of steel consumption in the field of constructions, the corporate structure of the foundation includes many key-figures of the national and international market, 42 companies, and 33 design offices: Italian and European steel-making companies, trade associations, processing companies and distributors, manufacturers of metallic products, machine tools producers, designers, engineers and architects.
All the actions undertaken over the past year, as well as those scheduled for the next one, make this institution a point of reference in the sector of construction and steel infrastructures throughout Italy.
